I’m David, a web professional with over 20 years experience in website design and development. I hold a BA Degree in Digital Media from the University of Hull, and have a proven track record of delivering high quality projects, both solo and as part of a team.
I work from my home office on the West Cliff in Whitby, and welcome new projects from both local and national businesses. If you think the Lite plan would be a good fit for your business please get in touch.
David is friendly, professional and easy to work with. He was very responsive to what we wanted and has designed a great new look for our website.
I work with you to develop a perfectly branded bespoke website. Clean, crisp and professional.
No hidden 'service' charges for hosting, content updates or support over the phone, e-mail or in person.
No set-up fee and no minimum contract. One straightforward monthly payment covers everything.
Visual design is the first stage of any project. Following thorough research and planning, I construct the user interface and layout for your website. I usually present a desktop and mobile view of the homepage first, and then after feedback continue with all other layouts. This naturally develops into a complete visual design which is finalised by a second round of feedback.
Working from rough notes or detailed documents I can optimise your content for search engines and encourage visitors to follow your call to action. I can also supply a privacy and cookies policy for your website.
Excludes copy for blog posts and product descriptions.
I take the agreed visual design and recreate it as a functioning website. I use modern build techniques that support consistent layout across all major browsers, including Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox - on desktop and mobile devices.
I take the completed website build and merge this with dynamic database driven content. Integrating third party software, contact forms and content management systems required for the final site to function.
A page layout refers to a unique design. For example, a blog would include two page layouts, one for the post listing view and one for the post detail view. Page layouts do not limit the total number of pages; a blog could have many individual pages using a single page layout.
Lite includes a maximum of 3 page layouts and Pro includes 9. This will cover the vast majority of small business websites, but if you require more I can quote on a custom plan tailored to you.
Working to a strict code of modern web standards ensures your website pages and information will be correctly structured and easily found by Google.
If you’re working with a search engine optimisation or advertising agency, I will happily work together to make any changes or amendments they require.
Analytics can help you or your marketing team gauge the effectiveness of advertising or search engine optimisation. I can set up Google Analytics on your website, which will give you access to an industry standard website analytics dashboard.
A custom Google map that fits in perfectly with your website and brand. A map can be used to promote your business location, display your opening hours, and allow users to easily follow directions directly on their phone.
I can take supplied photography, video or other content and create beautiful interactive media galleries; Perfect for promoting your products or services, creating feature-rich blog posts or showcasing your best work.
User friendly spam-free contact forms encourage customer contact, comments or questions. Messages arrive directly in your email inbox.
Lite includes 1 standard email contact form. Pro allows multiple complex forms.
A content management system (CMS) allows you to log in to your site and update content, post to a blog or manage products.
Don't worry. While a CMS is not included on Lite, you're still able to update content via email or over the phone.
A blog or news page is an easy way to keep your website content up to date and relevant, and is great for improving organic traffic through search or social. Posts can be easily added through a content management system, or if you prefer - by simply emailing your content.
Display upcoming events on your website. Events are similar to a news or blog page, but they are automatically removed once the event date has passed. Events can be edited, added or removed through a simple easy to use content management system.
Private pages require a user to enter a password to access content. For example; to allow staff to view or download documents and training material from home.
PayPal is a secure and trusted method to accept donations or enable your customers to make one-off payments through an email link or directly on your website. Customers can use a PayPal account or a credit/debit card. It's a great way for small businesses to offer invoice payments online.
PayPal can be added to a website through the use of an API, buttons, links or forms.
Using a fully featured eCommerce platform I can create a bespoke online store to perfectly serve your customers needs. Using a custom design and development process allows your product pages and checkout flow to be as complex or as simple as your business requires.
